From the Mouth of my Babe

Words, words, words.  We hear lots of jabbering and some English words from Oliver.  Words like book, diaper (pronouced diapa), bye-bye, stop, mum, dad, more, and up.  

I love that he says book.  He is a big fan of listening to books.  Current favorites are Barnyard Dance and Blue Hat, Green Hat by Sandra Boynton.  He also loves Amelia's Fantastic Flight by Rose Burdick, so much so, that the pages have come out of the binding.  Time for a new copy.

It's been lots of fun to hear him talk.  Can hardly wait to hear more.

Two years in the making

After a two year hiatus, Ricky has updated his blog.  Wonder of wonders, miracle of miracles.  I love to read his writings and am glad he has recorded something for our children to read.  How apropro his subject matter is.  Family relationships, journaling, parenting.  Heartwarming stuff for sure.

I am currently in a family history research, archiving, digitizing, and writing frenzy.  I've found that accountability is a wonderful motivator for me.  I'm collaborating with a partner to accomplish my family history goals.   Knowing that I will have to report on my progress is really keeping me focused and mostly on track.  I'm refinding and remembering some great stuff about my ancestors.   It will be a relief to have all my documents scanned and protected.  There are some gems hidden among my monster of a paper pile that I would be really sad to lose.  Ultimately, I hope that all this organizing, reading, and research will lead to some great writing.  We shall see.
