Sometimes, the little one sleeps in our bed. This morning I woke up to him pulling my eyelids open and jabbing me in the eye with his fingers. It was quite the wake up call. Did you know that everything goes black and that it takes a few seconds for the blackness to go away after being jabbed in the eye?
I'm grateful to my son for teaching me firsthand the results of a jab to the eye, because sometimes I wonder what would happen, if in self defense I jabbed someone in the eyes. Now I know that it's a short-lived but effective manuever. It affords one enough time to flee or inflict more damage. Maybe I watch too many crime shows, but from time to time I imagine scenarios where I will need to have a self defense/offensive plan in place. Do other people do this or am I just weird? I'm okay with being weird. It's good to be prepared.
